Humber Bridge toll
£2 per crossing (car, without an account). There's no barrier and nowhere to pay at the crossing, so you have to pay online, by phone or in a shop, by midnight the day after you cross. Here's how, and what it costs if you forget.
When do I have to pay by?
Pay on the official Humber Bridge site
We don't take payments. That link goes to the Humber Bridge Board's own page.

Forgot to pay?
| Stage | Amount |
|---|---|
| Unpaid Toll Notification | £25 admin fee + the toll, for each crossing |
| Still not paid | can be passed to the bridge's debt recovery agency |
The admin fee went up from £15 to £25 when the new system started. If you miss the deadline the bridge asks the DVLA for the registered keeper's details and posts the notification. A payment made after the deadline goes towards future crossings, not the one you missed. You can appeal once the letter arrives (you need its reference), up to three times with new evidence each time. Account holders get the same notification if their balance didn't cover the crossing and they didn't top up by midnight the next day.
Notices go to the registered keeper of the vehicle, so if you borrowed or hired a car, the letter goes to the owner or hire company first.
Who doesn't pay, and discounts
- Motorbikes and trikes: free
- Disabled people getting the higher rate mobility component of DLA or the enhanced rate of PIP: free, with a fully tax-exempt vehicle ('disabled' tax class), a toll account and an approved concession
The concession costs a one-off £10 to register and £5 a year to renew. The disabled person doesn't have to drive, but must be in the vehicle when it crosses. Until the concession is approved, crossings are charged at the normal rate.
Account holders pay less: £1.50 instead of £2 for a car.
