Booking: The port strongly recommends cruise passengers pre-book, as spaces cannot be guaranteed on arrival. Self-park bookings and instant quotes are through APCOA's online booking service; valet is booked with CPS.

Blue Badge: The port car park has designated spaces for people with disabilities or reduced mobility, and there are extra bays next to the main terminal building that you request when booking. The port's pages do not mention Blue Badge charges.

Electric cars: Six EV charging stations in the multi-storey car park, plus charging points outside the terminal entrance.

Valet or meet and greet: Valet for cruise passengers is run by Cruise and Passenger Services Ltd (CPS), booked in advance.

Private parking firms

Off-site car parks and meet-and-greet firms are private businesses, not part of the port. Many are fine and cheaper, but check before you book: where the car is actually kept, how the transfer works and how often it runs, whether the car park has the Park Mark Safer Parking award, the firm's cancellation terms and recent reviews. Meet-and-greet firms that aren't the port's own can't use the terminal forecourt without paying the port's charges like anyone else.

What the port says about other parking firms: The port lists alternatives a short taxi or bus ride away: Southampton Airport's park and sail for Portsmouth cruises, Portsmouth Market Way (NCP), Gunwharf Quays, the Solent Hotel, an ibis Portsmouth Centre stay-and-park deal, Portsmouth City Council car parks and JustPark. Motorhomes and caravans before early sailings may use limited hard standing in front of the multi-storey, at the owner's risk.
