Park or get a lift at Birmingham?

Lift or park: which is cheaper?

Being dropped off and picked up means your driver does the trip twice each way: four journeys. This adds that up using Birmingham's own charges.

Booking: Pre-booking guarantees a space. The airport says pre-booked stays of 14 days or more in Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 can save up to 70% on the standard tariff, subject to availability and liable to change at short notice; flexible bookings can be amended or cancelled up to 2 hours before arrival.

Meet and greet: Valet parking: leave your keys at the Valet Parking cabin on Ambassador Way and staff park the car in an on-site secured car park, 1-minute walk to the terminal. Car Park 7 is a cheaper meet and greet car park on the far side of the runway with a courtesy bus, but it is closed from 2 November 2026 to 25 March 2027.

Blue Badge: All on-site car parks have Blue Badge bays, including the ground floors of Car Parks 1, 2 and 3. Blue Badge holders get 30 minutes free in Premium Set Down, validated at the NCP Customer Service Cabin with the badge holder present; standard charges apply after that. To use Blue Badge bays without leaving the badge in the car, collect a temporary permit from the customer service desk in Premium Set Down (or the cabin at Car Park 7). No Blue Badge discount on longer parking is published.

Off-airport parking

Off-airport car parks and meet-and-greet firms are private businesses, not part of the airport. Many are fine and cheaper, but check before you book: where the car is actually kept, how the transfer works and how often it runs, whether the car park has the Park Mark Safer Parking award, the firm's cancellation terms and recent reviews. Meet-and-greet firms that aren't the airport's own can't use the terminal forecourt without paying the airport's charges like anyone else.
